2 Cat Friends Tell Their Stories

WE ♥ CATS

LOVE AT FIRST MEOW

In the summer of 2013, we saw our first cat, Schneggi aka Miezi, at the animal shelter, immediately fell in love, and took him home with us.

Of course, the new home for our new housemate also had to be CAT-APPROPRIATE and varied. Mirko is a trained carpenter, so it was clear – the scratching posts, sleeping places, and retreats would be built ourselves.

PASSION PROJECT

Over the years and with a second cat, more elements were added, along with the desire to turn OUR PASSION FOR CATS & CRAFTS into a profession.

The result: KATZENART

We are delighted to show you how we provide cats with a varied daily life full of well-being. Right among us - their humans.

  • KATHRIN

makes the sewing machine hum and produces our cushions & vaccination card covers. She also takes care of everything else.

  • Mirko

manufactures our CAT products in our Berlin workshop and tinkers with new elements.

  • OUR 2 MALE CATS

romp around on our climbing wall elements, testing them out and being our most beloved models.

Our Tomcats

SCHNEGGI AKA MIEZI & VIOLINO

Schneggi aka Miezi

his real name is Mogli. He came to us from the animal shelter at the age of 2. We both quickly gave him our own nicknames, so now he responds to two names.

He primarily shows his cuddlyCAT-LIKE nature to Mirko, whom he is absolutely smitten with. Kathrin & Violino also know him as a real Grumpy Cat. His favorite activity is retrieving: he prefers to retrieve his plush toy mouse or – as a handyman cat does – plastic wall plugs.

Model qualities

Schneggi aka Miezi ROAMS across his very own catwalk. He loves to present himself to us in all his glory from the planks. Either he struts back and forth or he lies down on one of the planks and shows us his best poses.

Vio(lino)

was looking for a new home in early 2015. His friendly, cheerful CAT NATURE immediately charmed us when we first met him.

Since then, there have been four of us. He keeps Schneggi aka Miezi quite busy - there's teasing, romping, and occasionally a squabble when it gets too much for the older one. Violino loves being carried around on a shoulder or cuddling under the covers between his humans.

Not just for... early risers

Our Violino is not a big fan of visitors. Up high, secluded and protected, on the wall bed, he does occasionally keep us company when we have guests - sometimes curiosity simply gets the better of him.
